via Nancy on Norwalk:

I’m excited to share the seventh episode of Community Ties, our original NancyOnNorwalk podcast. This one is a special one, and our longest conversation yet.

In this episode, The Search for Community, host Jack sits down with Tony Bacigalupo, a longtime community organizer and local connector who’s spent much of his career helping people find belonging in an increasingly fragmented world.

Tony founded New Work City back in 2008, helping lead a global movement toward co-working before co-working was cool. More recently, he’s turned his focus to Norwalk, creating spaces for connection through things like the New to Town Meetup and weekly Bike Party rides with Sustainable Streets Norwalk.

Their discussion touches on some big, timely themes, from the loneliness epidemic and the breakdown of our civil society to how social media algorithms can warp our sense of connection. It’s thoughtful, honest, and very human, and it captures something many of us have been feeling lately.

If you’ve ever found yourself searching for a stronger sense of community or wondering how to build it right where you are, this episode is worth a listen.
